Communities In Schools (CIS) Model places site coordinators in schools where they are part of a team who assesses individual student risk factors, and then develops comprehensive individual plans for struggling students.  The team's goal is to identify challenges, develope goals, and equip students with whatever is needed to ensure academic success.

Communities In Schools (CIS) surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.  Utilizing the CIS model, we assist selected communities and schools throughout Georgia to develop, implement and support locally-defined, comprehensive education programs.  The integrated student services model enables kids to graduate from high school and prepares them to succeed in college or a career.

CIS Candler County partners with our school district and connects community resources to families and kids based on the needs of the community.  Key initiatives include mentoring, parent engagement, literacy, and youth leadership,
